Reason 7 Midi Out

HI, all! Now that Reason 7 is out, one feature that I'm trying to understand is MIDI out.
Now, is it possible to midi out with.. let's say.. NI Massive?

Thanks!

Midi out is primarily aimed at people wanting to control hardware, but that is certainly also a possibility. You could send midi messages to Massive, and use Soundflower or Jack to create a virtual audio in to feed the audio back to Reason.

Yes you can!

You need virtual midi & audio cables for that!

Reason has no more cable for that!

Or if you have two soundcards you can connect the audio physically. I will be using copperlan for internal midi and my old Line6 toneport DI for audio, wired into the stereo input of my main interface.

Yes, now it possible ! :) Yesterday I tried out Reason 7 demo midi out with standalone Z3ta + with free software virtual midi called 'loopMIDI' and I must say that it works great !

hello, @ AliveCat:

can you comment back on how you got the audio back into reason?

are you using a mac or pc?

is there any type of latency or cracklepops with your setup please?

thank you very much, j
