Mastering Question

So what do I want to do first when mastering the track, use the ssl eq (strip channel) or do i first use the mclass eq's? Thanks.

The first thing you do is use your ears.

In that case, don't even bother with mastering. Learn the SSL mixer properly, EQ to taste, use your HP/LP filters to tweak your sounds.

That would be my only advice. Good luck.

@snow

Mix first. Dial down all the Gain pots by -4dB on the SSL, then play with the faders, split/parallel and pan, do the stuff ecopro mentioned and make room for each sound to sit in nicely.
Do this until you got a balanced mix at low volume.

When you are eq-ing separate channels (doesen't matter which eq you use) it's still mixing and not mastering. That means you do that first. The better you get that, the less mastering (stuff you do to the sum) it needs.
