Five Four Jam by David Akkerman

This is an arrangement I put together for a high school jazz ensemble. Recorded with R7. Turn it up!!!!

LOL I had it up already... Almost fell out of my seat with the first hit of the horns! Nice arrangement on the Brass! I enjoyed it!

Can't wait to hear it live, Bro.

Yeah, That was a "Tower of Power" kind of horn structure in the very beginning! What did you use might I ask? And I heard a synth sound in there. Are the kids going to be putting that in there also?

I used R7 horns. I have a guitar part but I used that Sitar patch in R7 instead for and ambient feel, who knows maybe one of the parents play sitar and they can sit in. The trumpet solo I Pulverized a little just for fun :).

Even though I'm from the West coast of the U.S. I was more of a Chicago horn guy not Tower of Power. ;)

"Tower of Power?" ok it's a cool track, but let's not go overboard..."TOP" deserves a little more respect than that...not trying to offend in any way...but I'm a huge fan of "T.O.P." and know their music quite well...

But great track idea nonetheless!

So am I. What I was observing was The combination of the notes in the first horn hit, and the structure of those notes. There was that little beefy bottom to it. @DavidA, I do like Chicago also, and have most of their collection... And these guys! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxWSOuNsN20

I'm just trying to play music and exiting new youngsters to do the same. How can we not have these old bands influence us. @mastertonyd I remember the first time I heard that song I was young, late 60's early 70's. Let's just jam together and play some music.

If you listen on a good system, the production was great on that whole album!
