Heliophile (synthpop) EP out now! (all Reason)

Hi everyone, I just released my debut synthpop EP "Nebula" today!
It was created and mixed completely with Reason and mastered by Ken Porter. But I must say I also benefited a great deal from the feedback and encouragement I've received on these forums. So thanks, people!

Stream for free or download for little on Bandcamp:

Edit: if you prefer a Soundcloud link to the EP, here it is!

Synthpop indeed...very well done! :)

Wow that is an EXCEPTIONAL ep. Even better than I expected based on the early tracks of yours I have heard. Wow. Thanks for posting that!

You know, I would say if I had to categorize you it would be a mix of Alphaville and Erasure, with a but more Alphaville. You have much more complex arrangements and chord progressions than most synthpop, which is very much to your credit.

I was in your beautiful country in May. Ate a lot of Kass. :)

Thanks so much, Carl, I'm very flattered! It's also very useful for me to hear your comparisons with other artists, because that will help me describe my music to others.
Next time you're in my country, let's have a drink together! (I actually don't like kaas :-) )

Just bought it via Bandcamp. I'm very, very impressed thus far after listening to the first two tracks. I'll post a review of it on my blog once I get a few listens of the whole EP completed. Fantastic work! It's everything great modern synth-pop should be. :)

Cheers,

J

An Exercise in Exorcism- Badass bass and your kick has a sort of reverb room sound which is hard to do mix-wise. I can't tell you how refreshing it is to hear vocals on the PH music forum. I feel like I'm on a journey. Love the lyrics.. Beautiful piano tone and fx. Awesome vocoder effect. I thought the snare was weird at first but then it grew on me with the other tones of instruments.
Nebula- Dude that bassline is incredible. Moving and grooving. I would raise the snare ~2dB but it still sounds good. Sweet mix. Amazing background vox. That aint easy to get right. Those guitar licks are NICE! I am curious how you got 1 guitar to sound balanced on both speakers.. do tell!
Kingdom of Light- The synth carries this song nicely. You're good at the 80s sound but it still sounds modern too. And you're a good singer. Great hook and background vox. Good job on the subtle yet gritty rhythm guitar!
Trampled Garden of Delight- Love the synth parts. Bass, again, sounds strong and smooth. Perfect stereo width/frequency representation. Uplifting message and melody. God I love that synth solo!!! And also again- sweet guitar. Man I will be buying this EP when I can. I need a link.
*Sorry for all the broken thoughts, huhuh.
