Hobo Joe (first song I ever wrote)

Twas 16 years ago when I was 15!
New strategy: I decided to archive all of my songs starting from here at #1 which is a good idea for a few reasons- mostly to have all of my music, well, archived for once and also to practice recording and mixing so by the time I get to my newest and best stuff it'll sound pro..... in a perfect world of course. I won't share every single song as there are over 100 but I'll share the highlights.
*Oh lol- True story and fun fact- So, I wrote this song in rehab when I was a teenager before I even learned how to play guitar so all the music was in my head but I sang it to my therapist and she always made me sing it to her after that. She even sort of danced in her seat. Good times :)

Oh my God, you killed Hobo Joe, you bastard.

Great voice you've got there. Catchy tune, happy and sinister at the same time.

For some strange reason this reminded me of " Bungalow Bill" from the "White" Beatles Album. Very catchy song indeed and the Bassline is awesome.....:)

This song put a big grin on my face, really catchy and I love the lyrics. Sounds good, the bassline is nice and your voice carries it well.

Sounds sad for an upbeat tune. But, it is well-put-together. Thanks for sharing.

I appreciate all of your comments. Didn't expect that reaction to such an old, not that great song.
Now I'm stuck on trying to perfect the mix which goes against my idea of archiving all of my music. It will waste too much time trying to perfect each mix; I should just do one and move on and apply what I learn to the next song. Any of you like this? My girlfriend gives me shit about it cuz obsessing over each song is truly the reason why I never finish anything. That and I needed a new computer. I am a perfectionist. I need to do a song and move on, getting better on the way cuz after all, I have well over 100 songs and Hobo Joe is #1!

Poor Hobo Joe - what a way to go!
A fun tune with a good mix. Bass sounds great - what is that? Like your vox too.

I'd call this mix done and move on to the next.
In fact, move on to the next bunch.

I'd suggest picking 4-5 of a similar genre, similar instruments and record them all together. Then mix them all together. You'll have some continuity and they will sound good together as the levels and instruments will be consistent.

jmo of course. Keep up the good work whatever way you decide to archive.:)

Agreed. You don't need to change a thing on this track. On to the next one squire.
