Just an Idea

I am not sure this has been done so anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but I was thinking of my clarinet and said to myself how through reason can I play it through a Mic and form midi notes and change the sound to what ever sound that is not clarinet.

Is it even possible to have a real instrument (lack of a better term) to control midi? Is there a RE that has that ability? If not I would love to have that type of technology to bring to Reason.

I think yamaha make some wind controllers.

Audio to MIDI is what you are looking for. Reason does not support it as of today but it is a highly desirable feature.

Probably but audio to midi would allow the OP to do this in real time.

@mrbrit

I think melodyne singletrack (not possible in Reason yet) will convert audio to midi for you.

If you want to do it in realtime though you'll need a wind controller like this http://www.musiciansfriend.com/woodw...troller?pfm=sp

Thanks but I was thinking if this was possible then other instruments could be played into it and the final push to melt digital and accostic together would be one step closer. My other thought would be a similar devise for voice that allowed the voice to harness the digital domain.

I know we have digital guitars, pianos, wind controllers and even vocoder , however I like to have my real instrument being clarinet to play my bass notes. Like I said its just a thought.
