How do I make decent drum and bass beats on Redrum

I need to find out how to make beats that sound like Shy Fx's latest beats. I just can't see mto figure out how to accomplish this on Redrum. Or How to make a Dillinja-esque loop.
Please help!

you can make some pretty ill drum beats with redrum, but also try using the Dr. Rex with some hiphop breaks sped up to 165-170. Thats how a lot of the big time producers get amen breaks.

Re: Heres the Track:

One word- thanks- man, any more of those pearls you might have...please send them along- I have been dissecting it since I have been trying to get that sound for some time, most of it I have, but the thing I haven't been able to figure out is the interplay in the redrum betwen the kick drum and the photek- units 1 and 6 on the redrum.- the photek that you loaded into unit #6 does a steady beat but once intermingled with the kick through the distortion comes out completely different (the photek gets drowned at certain points)- its the "trick" I have been looking for. How did you know that would happen? or was it just kind of chance happening?
