At big patches, cables will make some pain. A simple method to reduce complexity is to introduce stereo cables.
Reason automatically changes two cables connected from and to the same device (to left and right of the same port) to a stereo-cable: begin and end looking the same, but inbetween its just one little bit thicker cable. If you plug one cable to anywhere else, then the stereo-cable changes back to two single cables.
This will reduce cables by maximum of 50%.
