When you get a refill like Tom Pritchard or Jeremy Ellis Rhodes, you really see where the sound quality in reason is just fine. The problem is that they should really take all of the fluff out of the Factory Sound Bank and also Orkester is extremely limited.
Third party refills are your best bet.
Just thought about this as well. They can't get rid of any of the poor/fair sounds because they have to make it backward compatible with earlier versions of reason that might have used those lame sounds.
