Sharing Project Files with another Reason User

Hello all;
I've just started using Reason 3.0 and I'm having problems exporting a project file for our laptop guy in the band. For some reason my project file leaves off the sounds on Mixer channels 11-14 (they're completely blank), the instruments and all accompanying tracks in the sequencer window when he opens the file. The workaround was saving the missing channels to another proj.file and he then copied it into the first proj.file My project file is fine and intact when i open. Here's some info to let you know how we're working, the answers might be within perhaps

-My project file has 2 mixers: with 3 instruments patched into the 2nd mixer
-i'm running 3.0 on windows, he's running 4.0 on Mac (issue???)
-he's patching everything through Logic 8. But even if he opens my file just in Reason we encounter this problem.

Basically I need to know what/how the most efficient way to share project files with another reason user.

Hope someone can help. So far i love Reason
thanks in advance
-S69

To add to Redskwirrell 2uestioned Did you use the "Self contained" feature and made sure all additional files were checked before saving?

Hi guys - Yes to both of the your questions. Most of the files were Reason Factory sounds, and the 2 that weren't (WAVs) i zipped for him

I think it's possible he may have installed them to a different location.
ie. On your system a synth is looking for the "SkwirrellSings" patch which is installed at "c://Program Files/Reason/Satellites Patches/SkwirrellSings".
Your friend maybe did something like install the spare patch on his system to a spare drive and different location at say, "d://Reason/Satellite Patch/SkwirrellSings".
In which case you may need to open up the synths in question and re-load the patches from the new location.
Hope that's all it is anyway.

Incidentally, if you're still using Reason 3.0 there's a free upgrade to reason 3.04 (p.c. / Mac) or 3.05 (Mac) I would recommend.
It fixes some bugs, will improve performance, and includes some extra patches.
You can get it from the Downloads section of this site http://www.propellerheads.se/downloa...on=displaymain

Make sure you get the correct one for your system (P.C. or Mac).
The page describes which one is for which system.

[edit: Just noticed everything was self-contained so the above would be irrelevant anyway. Also, the upgrades will only be available to registered users which I also just noticed you don't appear to be.]

Thanks redskirwell - I just got Reason 2 weeks ago but i'm having a real hard time registerig. I keep getting a page error but then i thought i finally registered successfully (??) Weird. I guess i'll try again. I'll take a screenshot of the error if i get it again.

Thanks for the suggestions but i guess i'm still in the same boat ;-)
