Make input device independent from output device

I haven't seen this one and I don't know how to do it in Record, so I would like to be able to set a different hardware as input device than the output hardware. As I am a bedroom musician I have a USB microphone that I would like to use for input, at the same time I would like to have my x-fi sound card as output hardware. That would be great and spare me from having to record the mic with another program and then import it in record.

What I did not know is, that you could actually, not only have asio driver for all sound devices with asio4all, but also, you can create compound sound devices that appear as one to an application using the asio4all driver. Now, that I know that, your comment makes much more sense. I installed it yesterday and worked great.
