can you record you tube directly from you tube to reason sampler instrument

I used to be able to do this with my old sound card, I am looking to buy a new usb soundcard and am on the hunt for one that can allow me to run the wav output too an asio channel.

I think someone posted on this before. I'm not sure about routing your sound output back into reason - but you can get two pieces of software, the youtube downloader to pull the video to your computer, then another software to extract the audio track from the video.

you can then import that extracted wav into Reason and violate copyright laws to your heart's desire.

Some focusrite AI's like mine (pro24) have loopback channels that allow you to do this, but it's a firewire card. Worth checking to see if they make usb cards that do the same.

You can also do that using a virtual audio interface, such as Soundflower or Jack.

If you have two soundcards you can simply stick an aux cable from the headphone jack of your one card, and into the input of your other card.

Works just as easily

Get a program called wire tap studio captures any audio going into your mac and make sure when you save it
you save as a wave file then you could bring it into any sampler you want to

I have a lousy Realtek sound card that doesn't have ASIO drivers. So what I did was install ASIO4ALL, and that lets me input from my sound card right into Reason. On the sound card settings change the recording source from Microphone to Stereo Mix. You'll probably have to turn the recording level way down. After you record a clip right-click it then normalize, and then lower the volume by about 3 or 4 db. I used to record clips in Audacity and then import into Reason, but it's much nicer recording right into Reason and then you can chop up your clips however you wish.
