Talking Kong Stinks and Here's Why

Me: It's a poor imitation of an mpc.
Kong Fan: It's not meant to be an mpc.
Me: Then why does it look like one?
Kong Fan: It's a synthetic/physical modeled drum module with sampling capabilities.
Me: Booohhhh!!!
Kong Fan: That's an immature response.
Me: The audio outs on the back are configured ridiculously for mixing individual drums.
Kong Fan: It can be done there are lots of tutorials on the forum.
Me: Booooohhh!!! Redrum is all I need for drums.
Kong Fan: Whatever, it works really well for sampling!
Me: Astonished facial expression (:O All it can slice/edit is the start and end of the sample, and there's no autochop.
Kong Fan: Use recycle for autochop. Do you have recycle?
Me: Yes. Booohhhh!!!
Kong Fan: I'm done talking to you!!
Me: Typical Kong fanboy!
Kong Fan: You don't really love the Props like I do!!
Me: Look at my icons you idiot, get a life.

I don't really use Kong and tbh it's because it's analogue modules are really, really, really basic *Sigh*.

And getting a proper powerful kick for example requires like 5 pads! Sod that! GIVE ME A PROPER DRUM SYNTHESIZER with Osc choices!! So then I can record it out onto an audio track without having to deal with an imitation of an MPC!

AND IT'S NOT EVEN ABOUT AN MPC these days, it's not the bloody 90's. Give us something innovative, original, inspiring to play around with!

They already have given us proper analog drum synthesizers. Subtractor, Thor, Malstrom......
Ive made everything but a proper handclap so no excuses. If you want to narrow it down just throw it into combi and narrow the range of the controls to keep you in a specifc drum realm.

I use Thor mostly to make my drum sounds, and then convert them to wavs via rec source of master after properly processing them thoroughly through M-class and SSL. I know it's not hard lol.

Just pointing out that surely there is more to drum synthesis THAN KONG!

No excuses? Militant! I'm partial to physical modeling, but still can't find that option in the others. Kong's not so deep, but it's flexible.

Haha, that is true there isn't any other options for physical drum modeling. I was merely stating that if analog drum sounds are what your after the tools are there.

I find the Kong a very stimulating instrument in the rack, once i plug in my MPD24 i can quiet happily bang away for hours, sometimes i've been up all night banging and tweaking the knobs.. Thanks Kong

I find 5 or 6 claps almost ok in redrums and kong and about 7 or 8 kicks
in battery 3 you get all the best sounds that it is possible to find in reason !
you say it is the sound pack, I say it is the engine !
