Post Beginner / Advanced Online lessons in the PH Shop

Hello everyone,

I've owned reason now for a while but still have a hard time getting used to it and am basically only doing basic songs with it. Do you think it would be a good idea to purchase these new online lesson packages in the PH shop (that include songs to work on and everything you need) for $191.00 USD each for intermediate and advanced courses or should I go to these free tutorial sites.

I know if I wanted to save the money I'd just look up the free tutorials but where these are suppose to be the complete learning package I was wondering if it would be worth it.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

I just paid a discounted $400 USD for the Manchester MIDI School's ten-week Online Reason course. Berklee School of Music charges around $1100 for a similar offering--more if you want CEU credit. Both are directed by PH certified instructors, too. I don't know what the free sites offer, but I doubt whether any of them are as systematic or as thorough as either of the above.

In my mind I got a bargain. I'll have to check out the Props courses, but based on my terrific experience with MMS I'd say go for it.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I'm on the same page with you there. I've watched a few free tutorials and while they did offer some good tips I still felt a bit lost with my own stuff and the program. This online course in the PH shops seem to offer everything necessary to get you up to speed with the program and more and if it's in the PH shop I would assume its more reputable then a random tutorial site.
I may have to seriously look into buying this

Thanks

You might also want to take a look at Groove3. I can't speak for their content, but 2 of them were produced by Peff, and should be very good. You might also want to look at Peff's Reason 3 book. That too gets high marks around here.

As mentioned above I would have look at groove 3
http://www.groove3.com/str/

and also macrpovideo
http://www.macprovideo.com/

You have two options - Buy individual tutorials (ranging from beginners complete overview to dedicated tutorials on individual devices) or pay for a time limited streaming option.

If you like to take a long time to learn you might be best buying an overview course. If you like to learn quickly and can devote a lot of time over a short period a subscription may be better as you can use all of the training courses. Also as the training is divided in to chapters you don't have to do a whole course, you can just chose chapters on topics you want to learn.

I have used this extensively and they worked for me.

I hope that helps.

I have been through most of the Beginner playlist but not all of the videos. Do you think the online course would be along the same lines?

what exactly would you like to learn ?

Reason ?
production ?
mixing ?
music theory ?
tips and tracks ?

Macprovideo , will walk you through Reason and the devices that come with Reason .

just subscribe for a month for $25 or download the parts you want to learn , it cost more but you have it for life .
