New Dance Pop : Occupy Wall Street

I've been working on this song for about a year now. All done in Reason. Right after the vocals were done, REs came out. I really benefited from the FET, TSAR 1 and Ozone, and Saturation knob. Please let me know what you think!

LOL... Truthfully, I like where you're trying to go with it, but it feels home made, and the vocals... I can't put my finger on it, but something is off. Maybe the vocals needs compression presence ?

I hope this isn't received improperly... good work. I like the libertarian message

I like the track. It's very catchy, and much more informed than most political music. I also love that your rhymed GATT with Glass-Stiegel act. Classic.

I can kind of hear where rvolt is coming from. The song is good but the mix just isn't there yet somehow. Maybe you can experiment with it. To me it felt a bit muffled, like the highs were squashed. It could be a simple matter of the mix being over-compressed. Try a version without the Ozone and the SSL compressor and see if it sounds clearer and more alive (of course it will be quieter, but turn it up so you can do an apples-to-apples comparison to the soundcloud mix).

It could also be an eq issue on the vocals, not sure. I would suggest trying to highpass filter the lows out of your vocals using the EQ on the SSL. That might go a long way to clearing it up.

I like the song though, don't get me wrong! Just trying to give some suggestions on the mix.

I really like this song. Very unique and catching. I love the way you do the vocals. I agree with about 50% of the lyrics. Nice job!

Oh, and I have to give you kudos for not including swear words. I can't listen to most of the political rant songs because they're laden with cuss words.

I like that you get all of the words into it. Nice message. As far as mix goes, if you have a time check this out: https://www.propellerheads.se/substa...&article=part4
It helped me in a huge way.

Wow, that was an amazing article! I"m going to try the gain staging stuff on my next mix. I think it could help me a lot! Thanks a lot for posting.

Man, the more I listen to this song, the more I like it. I think the message is very important, and the lyrics are very well crafted.

For real, I've listened to this song a few times just reading the lyrics. They are very well done and have that ring that they truly come from the heart, you know.

Respect for the producer. Seriously. The more I listen to it the less I care about the mix issues, but I do think the mix could be opened up without too much effort.
