Dr.OctoRex Improvements

Hello Props,

one thing I'm missing is that I can't fine-tune one single slice in this machine. Only fine-tune over the whole loop via OSC-Pitch is possible.

To me, octorex and kong are near misses. There is so much good, but wierd omissions.
I would have designed octorex with an eye towards having it integrated into an ableton like arrange functionality. As it is now, there is really now way to message program changes between octorexs. I would ugrade octorex and then release an RE that can coordinate the playback of multible octorex ala live. I would also like to see an efx bus so you could add efx per slice, which is nicely implemented in live via envelopes.

I never really use Octorex to be honest, only if I need to load up some loops as backfills. Its a total under-user for such a complex instrument, however, I find there's not that much interesting stuff I can do with it. If Recycle was included in Reason and full sampler functionality (like for NN19 & NNXT) that would be an entirely different story and it would become a powerful tool that could really stand out as an instrument.

I'm agree with you. The Recycle could be implemented into the Sampleeditor. It would be enough if they implements only the basic functionality of ReCycle like autodetect of slices, setting and deleting slicemarkers without export-function to the rx2 format so that the propheads would be able to continue to distribute their ooooold ReCycle 2.? for 300 bucks furthermore...

I like the Dr.Octo REX...but I will admit I never load more than one loop into it. I always copy the loop to track and turn off the auto playback function.
