Windows 8 - Audio Tuning Guide !!!

Hey Props,..

i think it is time to write a guide about Windows 8 and how to setup it as a good OS for Reason.

1. where can i switch my ASIO4ALL driver to the CPU-usage REALTIME
2. and how to start Reason as realtime-service ?

In the Internet i have read some stuff about the Win8 internal Audio(Asio) structure. And it seems like you would have to change some important things by using Windows8 ??

is it possible to get help, how can I setup the Win 8 PC right?

I'm running 6.5.2 in Windows 8 Pro. Feels identical to Win7. Things just work. Oh, and I'm using Balance and Nektar P4 without issue. ...well, the same issues I had in Win7 anyway.

If you don't speak German you can simply cut the whole document and paste it into Google translation tools (Google Screen, press More...). It's not ideal but good enough to figure out the meaning.

I found this passage of the guide interesting:

System performance for background services...

In Control Panel / System /
Advanced System Settings / Advanced / Performance Settings / Advanced you will find ... an option to optimize the processor scheduling for background services.
Do ... this on any case. Usually this setting contributes significantly to a click-free audio.

Can anyone comment?
