I like the guitar sound you got pumping through these speakers. Big sound!

Thanx. I tried a different more basic approach with the guitar tones. I think it worked out for the better. I'm really looking for the djent sound. The mix was rarely basic too. I didn't do a whole lot to the guitars, just the kick and snare.

I am using the Line 6 UX 2 with the pod farm software. I do have a peavey vypyr 60 watt tube amp which sounds amazing, but I don't have enough hardware to get the exact sound out of it that I want. Anyways, the chain has a 2 noise gates, one at the front and one directly after the compressor, which allow for really nice dead stops, a tube screamer, treadplate amp, 4x12 treadplate cab, a compressor and and a simple 4 band eq. I came across the preset on the custom tone page on at line 6. I have been searching for a really good djent tone. I think this one will do with a little less gain to add a touch more clarity, but overall I am pleased with this preset over the ones I have created and tweaked in the past. The guitar has more presence and doesn't sound thin; a common problem with non tube products. As for the guitar it is an Ibanez rgtsexfx with active emgs. I cant remember the last gage that I put on it, but they are super thick. I have the guitar tuned to a drop A.

It's on soundcloud too. I just use soundclick. You get stats and charts. It's fun to see where ur stuff ranks and I am not honestly sure I know how it works or that it even matters but its fun none the less. I do like the soundcloud site much better though.

Sounds awesome. Love the guitar tone.

This is much more melodic that most metal (I'm sure that's why you said it was prog metal). I would say you could slow down the drums and calm down the guitar, add lyrics and make this a pop-punk song.
