Is there a way to fix headphone eroding or...?

I have these awesome headphones (Ultrasone HFI-580) that I treasure (have only had them for a few years) and the cups are starting to crack/peel, etc... I'm sure you've seen this before. These are expensive headphones though and still sound great. Is there any solution to preserve/repair these?

^ Nice suggestion, but those seem to be all foam-based... these are like, foam interior with that fake leather-like exterior.

I guess I'll just have to deal with them. Third world problems. Sighhh.

The top model here is artificial leather, you could email them to see if they'll fit on the 580's as well as the 550/650 http://www.ultrasone.com/index.php/e...bpf62n-9Lwy159

Edit: just looked at the spec sheet and the 550s and 580s both have 50mm drivers, so there's hope

Those replacements listed are not from a distributor but the main company itself. But either way, that is helpful. I'll look into it.

I think once they go, they're gone...

it's caused by sweat (however minimal), which is a combination of salt, acid, enzymes, oil, ammonia, bacteria, and more.

you need to get a (leather) cleaner and clean the pads immediately after use to minimize deterioration.
