More PX7 & 80's music in Reason - Crockette's Theme

A little while ago I made a thread about my recreation of Axel F in Reason. That one I just randomly did for fun. But this time, I have to recreate a track for school. My assignment was to recreate Jan Hammer's Crockette's theme.

Here's what I got so far:

At this point a lot of work is still left, but I made this in less than 3 hours.

Excellent start. I'm a massive Jan Hammer fan. He's one of my biggest influences. Are you using Bitley's Fairlight refill for any of your patches? There are some dead-on Hammer patches in Bitley's library. At any rate...... for three hours of work, it's well on its way. Excellent job thus far. Best wishes!

Cheers,

J

This is cool... not exactly a dead ringer like your amazing Axel F recreation but still awesome. And only three hours!

Fantastic job!

I love Jan Hammer's album "Escape from Television".

Good attention to detail on how this is played. Keep it coming!

Yeah! He has such a great string pad sound and as for his lead synth playing! Actually another good musician for guitar-like synth leads is Elton John. Fantastic solo in "I'm still standing", hard to believe it's keys.

I didn't use any refills for this. All the sounds are recreated by myself using a lot of FM synthesis. (We're covering FM synthesis in school now, that's why this is a school assignment).
I would love to have the original drumsamples though I couldn't find what he was using so I made my own from tweaking some AKAI XR-10 samples.

Thanks man
For my Axel F recreation I had a lot more time. This one has a deadline plus more schoolwork on the side
