NN-XT should be able to load a full rex loop as a single sample

Good old NN-XT should be able to load a full rex loop as a single sample. Currently you can only get all individual slices loaded as samples, can't you?

For some rex sound libraries it would be very good, if one could also load a rex file like it was just a stupid .wav so that pressing the corresponding midi note would then play the rex loop. It would be best if one could switch between a play mode which would behave like Dr. OctoRex playing the loop with matching transpose values and another mode where the loop is really treated like a normal wav sample.

You'd give up tempo sync with this option - for now just import the REX into an audio track and bounce to new sample and you'll have it. :-)

Unhappy converting to wav is too tiresome for 100+ loops

This doesn't help very much, as I got bunch of rex loops (e.g. guitar riffs) that should a) stay in sync and b) are recorded for each note individually.

Now it would be really useful if one could map each loop to the corresponding midi note (without converting those to wav first and therefore loosing the bpm flexibility a rex loop does offer.

With support for this mode of operation NN-XT would be closing in on StylusRMX.

Not exactly.

Take for example the big bad bass guitar rex loop library from 9V audio. In this Library you've got a toolbox folder with different guitar riffs played on all notes of two octaves so one would need 24 pads to have those playable. If NN-XT was able to play a complete Rex loop mapped to a key (much like you can do in kong) instead of just a slice of the loop you could create large patches covering the whole keyboard like this for example:
C1-B2 strums, C2-B3 powerchords, C3-B4 8th notes, ...

Have a look at the video on the page linked above on how nice this works within StylusRMX. In my opinion it should not be that hard to get NN-XT updated with this feature.

(If NN-XT could also do key switching like kontakt it would be even better, as you could then use one hand to switch between playing styles and the other to select which note to play.)

Can't you just use the DrOcto ? This already gives ability to switch between the 8 loop slots.(wether it's 8 different loops or 1 loop w/7 variations) I think making a combinator with multiple octo's is probably the answer but, you could make a combi full of Thor's too and use nurse Rex set to the loop "hit type"
