Subtractor Jam Session Song Challenge!

There have been some discussions on this board of late that might suggest that the Subtractor is less than par. I feel there is more to it than meets the eye. It can be a huge weapon in the Reason arsonal. It is first choice in most of what I work on.

So here's the bit:
An all subtractor song challenge.
Reason Factory Sound Bank only.
No Percusion Patches(you can make drum sounds with other patches)
You can control the Subtractor in any way you want except with the Malstrom.
No prizes, just good clean fun to show the "Nay Sayers" that they are wrong.
When you finish post as .rps on the song board and anounce your track.
Then everyone will have a chance to listen and share some ideas and feed back.

ANYONE DOWN FOR THAT!

Re: Subtractor Jam Session Song Challenge!

Well, it's been done before (the "Submarine Contest" I think it was called...) but I think it'd be cool to do again!

Does "no percussion patches" mean no using the Subtractor to create drum sounds or does that mean no using non-Subtractor drums?

:You can use any Reason Factory Sound Bank patch to make a drum sound, but you can't use the Subtractor Percussion Patches. You'll have to make all the drum sounds from the other Sound Bank patches.
You can use the Redrum to control Subtractors.

Also the submarine contest let you use the Malstrom.

This is going to be fun!

So you have to use 100% Subtractors, and you can use the FSB patches if you want, but if you need drum sounds you cannot use the FSB drum sounds?

What about loading an FSB drum sound and tweaking it into something slightly different?

Ok, now you've changed it again! Does this mean including percussion patches? Does this mean we cannot create custom patches, or just that we cannot use existing patches from outside of the FSB?

Techno?

No techno here. I like Pop songs like Hootie and the Blowfish and Bare Naked Ladies. I'm thinking of covering some Green Day songs in the style of Dave Mathews

You could make what ever you want.
enough typing, now get to work
