How do I record audio from my real keyboard into Reason 3?

Hi,

I have a keyboard that I use to input midi data into Reason. However, I would like to be able to use some of the voices on the keyboard in Reason as well. I am also thinking about purchasing a drum machine, and using the drum sounds from the machine in Reason itself.

How do I get a real keyboard to record out on my PC in Reason?

Assuming I set up the keyboard to output via a cable into the sound card, how do I get Reason to hear the data and sample it out, including it as part of the song?

Has anyone tried this? Does anyone have any ideas how to do this?

If it requires other software to work alongside Reason, I will of course consider it.

Any help gratefully received,

Dan

Reason can't record audio. It will only record midi information.

About the best you can do is to record you're voices in some other music platform and map them into an NN-XT sampler.

The best way to use audio with Reason is to rewire reason into a DAW such as Ableton Live and go from there.

Cheers Howard

PS. I know people can be snotty, but this is about the number 1 most common question asked about Reason, and a quick search would have found you the answer in a bout 2 secs.
