What about Recycle 2.1.2? And Record 1.5? Anyone have experience with those? Thanks.

I will throw out a word of caution, not aimed at Reason but at Mountain Lion. I have been seeing a lot of beach-ball activity with Pixelmator and Logic. The Pixelmator board reckons there are some issues with memory management in Mountain Lion. The system just freezes for a few seconds while some background process hogs the system. I have found Logic refusing to respond to mouse clicks while this is going on. Hopefully this will not affect Reason, and hopefully not your specific setup, but I would recommend treading cautiously if your business depends on it.

I'll second that. Running Reason 5.5 on a top-spec Retina MBP and it runs poorly. Lots of freezes and beachballs. Had more crashes in 2 days than in the last two years. Ran much better on a 1st generation unibody MBP with Lion.

I have had 2 crashes since updating both. Currently running 6.5.1 & 10.8.

I have crash reports but have no idea how to read said reports.

12 minute long beachball to move a small section of audio two bars along the timeline. Worst thing is I dropped it in the wrong place. 3 minutes more to undo. Ran way better on a first gen unibody MBP.

Check your background processes via Activity Control.
There must be sth which is causing this lag.
I´ve a 2012 MBP 2.3Ghz,8GB Ram and no problem moving big audio files w/in a project.
