channel strip insert fx control

I add an insert effect to an instrument by right clicking on it, but it doesn't show up in the main mixer's channel strip "insert fx" section. Can someone explain the relationship between the insert effect and the channel strip section, and how to make it appear there? Is it just similar to the combinator?

Yea, it is similar and works like a Combinator. Basically, to use the rotaries and buttons within the mixer insert effect section, you would also have to load or create a patch that makes use of it in the rack, like a Combinator effect patch.

Also, to be able to use this properly, you would have to put your inserts inside the dedicated section in the rack, not outside of it.
