outrageous[ out-rey-juh s ]
adjective
1.*of the nature of or involving gross injury or wrong: an outrageous slander.
2.*grossly offensive to the sense of right or decency: outrageous behavior; an outrageous remark.
3.*passing reasonable bounds; intolerable or shocking: an outrageous price.

You may think they are "overpriced" sure.
But "OUTRAGEOUSLY overpriced" ? I would disagree.

Why? Because not enough people agree with you.
Because there are likely more people buying one or two RE than complaining about price.

Id say find a new adjective or maybe use no adjective at all.
Or replace the verb to "OUTRAGEOUSLY un-pirateable".

& lol@ "reasonable bounds" used for the "outrageous price" example definition.
Yes, irony.

To everyone who truly thinks RE are overpriced....have you ever once sent a complaint to overpriced VST or DAW companies as well? Oh yeah...I forgot... you can DL those for "free".

And one more thing:

THE 3RD PARTY DEVS SET THEIR OWN PRICES!

So, I would suggest you figure out exactly which ones you feel are "outrageously overpriced".
And then, send them an email voicing your opinion to each and every RE dev that is not priced fair in your opinion.

If you don't do that but, still bitch and moan into the thin air on these forums....then it's STFU time 'round here.

Why not, people pay that much (and much more) for vst plugins, and they sure as hell aren't as stable as these are purported to be.

I can't believe this thread is STILL going, seesh. If you think these RE's are overpriced then I think it's time you started a new hobby! Welcome to the world of PROFESSIONAL MUSIC PRODUCTION,

If you wanna make phat kick ass beats tho, and do it like the big boys I recommend you get this....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPV8c...ayer_embedded#!

No skillz needed, no RE's, no VST's, no audio examples, so you know it's good. You'd better be quick tho, while stock lasts!

The problem is...the problem is that the REASON I got into reason is that it was a one stop shop. Buy the upgrade and get a whole bunch of cool shit. This is why I left protools, I was tired of shopping to do just one task. "Get the producer's bundle!" PPhead is going the way of digidesign, make's me nervous. They should make an expiry date for Items in the store. Once they expire they become part of the next release. How un Capitalist is that?

I hope Reason 7 gets some new game changers. It would be a shame to find game changers in the shop only.

The problem is it's limitation (Reason only) and the price.

Many people use a different DAW besides Reason, so there is a dillema;

1) Buying a Rack Extension and only be able to use with Reason.

2) Buying a VST and use it within ANY DAW you want (except Reason).

Why should we need to buy 2 licenses for the same product (RE and VST)?
Makes no sense.

Developers could solve this to automatically grant a VST license to RE buyers to solve this issue.
The license and product remains the same, the only issue is you can't use RE's outside Reason and you can't use VST on Reason but any other DAW.

Plus, the Propellerhead's license policy regarding Rack Extensions is conflicting European Law.

Can I sell or transfer my Rack Extensions?

No, you will not be able to sell or transfer your Rack Extension licenses. These are personal licenses that are tied to your account when you purchase them.
Google this "EU software resell" and you know it.
