A rack extension to reverse phase

It would honestly be really great if there was a rack extension that allowed you to flip the phase of a sound (particularly useful if you're combining drum sounds). anyone else agree?

Just flip the polarity switch. at the top of the mixer.

yeah, i was hoping not to have to use a mixer channel for every time i just want to reverse polarity of a single drum sound that's going to be processed with a group of other drum sounds

and the routing for that is a pain in the butt. if they had a polarity reverse feature on kong for each sound, that might be cool too

+1 on this, for one reason, you can't put a Mix Channel in a Combinator.

I would think there would need to be additional functions on a device to make more efficient use of rack space IMO.

Things like audio to CV and back, 2-4 channels of polarity inversion for both audio and CV I/O, Uni-2-Bi and Bi-2-Uni conversions for CVs, as well as 2-4 Rotaries and Buttons on the front panel with CV outputs on the back. Throw in a Multiplication section (a 'Scale' control for CVs, like in Thor's MBRS), and allow it to receive notes so it can output Note/Gate CV as well as controller CVs (Mod Wheel, Pitch Bend, etc).

That ought to fill a single space device nicely… ;-)

I do strongly believe that JiggeryPokery is the man for that kind of stuff :^)
Isn't he actually doing something like this right now?
I think he's building an MS matrix(?) Since that must contain a phase inverter at some point, it would fit the bill quite nicely...
hope I didn't give any false information about this!
anyway
cheers

M/S processing requires a phase inversion on both ends, but that doesn't mean you can access it separately from the M/S conversion - translation: it will have to be an additional feature.

I don't think he has anything planned like what I just outlined (a Swiss Army Knife approach), but you never know. ;-)

I do know that other RE developers have suggested that they may start with more utility CV type devices as I have outlined, since they are easier to build than synths etc. I think the key will be what feature they choose and which ones they leave off. :-)
