Two very different pieces of software.
I stand corrected. I honestly thought that Nuendo was a full-featured video production suite. That's a drag that Vegas has dropped Rewire. Is there anything else out there that compares?

I checked with my Nuendo-using friend today, who is up to version 5. He says that N5 is intended as a complete A/V post production suite. How does this differ from Vegas?

Vegas actually started out as an audio-only app. Video was added around v2, but it was fairly basic. It got a big improvement in V3, and has improved fairly steadily since then.

Vegas gets a bit of a bad rap, but IMO, it's undeserved. There are some things there that are brilliant, like working with clips. I wish Reason had the same functionality with stuff like cross-fading and editing on the timeline.
