Truth, but there might be some misunderstanding about the what constitutes "3d code". It is NOT the kind of polygon rendering you see in high end console, but it is just a different pipe-line for drawing graphics. Essentially using the GPU instead of the CPU... it is nothing difficult to do in the grand scheme of things it is just a very tedious process to get your non-gpu code to be rewritten for the GPU. The end results are a more polished and responsive host application. In the future most VSTs will have the ability to do this if the host provides such pipelining.
