Nice device and all, but I think this is more of a utility/tool than an instrument.

That is my question too. I need pdt2 to output the randomized midi notes, because I use reason drum kits refill for drum notes, not redrum. I guess I just wire the pdt2 to my drum refill? I sometimes find other uses for my midi drum notes too, hence my question about output of midi notes.

Awesome idea and a funtastic (fantastic and fun together!) RE.
I can't believe Propellerhead didn't come up with such idea in Redrum / Kong already

IMPROVEMENTS:

I really wish to see a (at least) 4 channel to make even better drums.
Currently you can only trigger 2 pads in Redrum/Kong.
Making it at least 4 channel were able to create even funkier beats (think of hiphop/jazz/whatever).

It does look like a nice device, but on this specific point, there have always been ways of doing pretty similar things in Reason. Just to name two: Chain up the CV gates from some trigger-only Redrums to your main Redrum, with variable pattern lengths (50% "probability" = 32 step pattern on your trigger-only Redrum, 33% "probability" = 48 step pattern). Gets really nifty when your trig device is set to an off-kilter pattern length relative to your main redrum. As for Kong, you could use the ALT option in a NN-NANO layer to alternately switch between drums and whatever number (2,3,4,11) of silent samples.

Just load up two PDT2s. Now you have four channels!

@ochenk, did you check my PMs? I think I found a bug where PDT doesn't play a note that has 100% probability at higher speeds.

I can't get Reason to record a drum pattern I created via 3 PDT2's all in a combinator. I love the swing and the funk but I just can't get it to record. Am I missing something (Possibly something fundamentally easy...)?
