help with soundcards

hi there,
im having a new pc built as mine isnt capable of running reason 6, i realise i need a good soundcard and this is where im a bit lost,
i am looking at a focusrite saffire 6 soundcard, but will i still need a pci souncard for inside the pc tower??
what if i just bought a better pci soundcard and not bothered with the saffire 6?
any help would be appreciated

It all depends on what the motherboard being used has for internal slots. Most new computers do not have pci as it is legacy and pcie 1x-16x is the norm. I have the focusrite Scarlet 2i2 and i love it. No need for a pci/pcie internal sound card. Some internal sound cards can achieve slightly lower latencies as they are not over a usb or external buss. Though it usually isn't a problem.
