I agree, this feature would be really handy to have. Especially when working on a track with lots of devices or some RE's that use more than their fair share

muting will not give you much scope, it does give back hardly anything in dsp wise, and to mute and copy track adding more to the problem as you will still have all your devices track data etc all using a resource and still keeping dsp high, best save the midi version of said track first for editing later if need be, and do the bounce option, delete ya midi then resave as different working version it gives you the abbillity to do just that go back and edit the saved midi data later, bouncing out and putting the audio back in place of the wanted change.

You shouldn't have too. thats why reasons self contained unless your computer is old (RAM)
