Still can't get reason to open

I tried what you suggested - however was unable to find a file se.propellerhead.reason.plst etc., also the reason folder is in hd/library, not preferences - but I still get the same message "the operation could not be completed because the device denied access".
I have mac os lion and am running pro tools 8.0.5. Does anybody have any other ideas about this. I'm wondering if it's a problem with lion and it hasn't yet been addressed.
thanks.

H,

Did anyone get a solution to this? I'm trying to install Reason adapted 3.0.5 on a new intel macbook pro running 10.7.4.

What I did was download the 3.0.5 zip from the site, dragged it to my apps folder (there isn't an installer), open reason, agree to the terms, enter my name and serial and get the same "Access denied The operation could not be completed because the device denied access"

I don't have any reason or propellerheads prefs for in the ~/Library/Preferences or MacHD/Library/Preferences to delete, and I have given "everybody" access to the MacHD/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software folder too, and repaired Disk permissions using disk utility.

Be really gratefull if anyone else has any ideas...

Thanks!

This is the fix:
New iMac with 10.7.4.
Drag the Reason Adapted folder into Applications.
Go to Applications/Utilities, open Terminal.
In Terminal, type:
sudo su
and press enter.
You will be asked for your password. You enter your admin pw (the pw you use to log into your admin account, which is usually your main account).
Nothing will show while you type your password. Press enter after entering the pw.
This will give you super user privileges.
In Terminal your command prompt should now end with a # instead of a $
Leave that terminal window open, and go to the Reason Adapted folder.
Right click on the Reason Adapted app, and choose 'show package contents'.
Navigate to: Contents/MacOS.
In that folder, drag the Reason binary to the terminal window you left open.
This will insert the path to the binary in terminal.
Now press enter and this will run Reason Adapted from the terminal.
Go through the process of authorizing, etc.
After Reason Apapted is up & running, you can quit it and now run it normally by just double clicking on the icon.
You can now also quit Terminal.
This solves the 'Access Denied' problem when installing the first time.
My guess is that this is due to the more strict policies Apple implemented from 10.7 on.

I've since found a much easier way. Download this app. Drop the Reason Adapted app onto it.
You'll be prompted for your admin user name & password. The app will then proceed to launch Reason Adapted with admin privileges.
No need for Terminal or show package contents mucking about.

Thanks for that, jerryrentzke!!! One additional tidbit I discovered is that one might not be able to drag Reason directly to the Launch As Root folder. In my case, the workaround turned out to be really easy: right-click on the Reason icon and click "Launch As Root," which comes up at the bottom of the menu. From there, I had to put in 2 of the install discs again, put in the serial number, and the software then loaded right up. Thanks, again!
