Thumbs up PX7 Feature Requests

Please make PX7 more than just a limited DX7 clone. Native Instruments did it perfectly well with FM7, which is considered a classic digital synth.

Here's a list of much needed features:
1. Ability to automate Operator pitch and pan including CV inputs.
2. A selection of different waveforms per Operator
3. Polyphonic resonant filter like FM7 - will make it a lot more useable
4. Individual pitch envelopes - modern FM without this feels kinda strange

If the FM7 VST is considered a "classic digital synth" then, what do we call an actual DX7?

Audio-In for operator and carrier ...

switchable: Analysis of the frequency spectrum or adjustable threshold level.
HP/LP Filter... and a negative function to rotate incomming frequencies.

I want more control for this device within a combinator, for example, being able to set the coarse knob of a particular operator to one of the rotaries!
I'm making a patch at the moment and moving the coarse knob changes character drastically and I'd like to be able to set this up so anyone else using it won't need to open up the combinator and more importantly some people won't know to go straight to operator 3's coarse knob to change the character - It's an important feature that needs adding, not just for coarse but other parameters as well. It would really help to expand this already awesome synth

Show programmer

The PX7 takes too much vertical space. It should have a "show programmer" button like Thor has.

I think you have mixed the terminology a bit. The DX7 (and PX7) have 6 operators and each operator can act as either a carrier or a modulator. A carrier means that the operator is carrying the sound (i.e. it's the operator that can be heard). Modulator is exactly that, the operator that is modulating the carrier.

In other words, Audio In for the Operator makes sense, but for carrier does not make sense as one of the existing operators are acting as carrier.

haha.. you are right..
I will give no fixed wiring...
why not bulid in 6 Aux (Carrier) sends for each operarator also..
and the 6 send (carrier) signals can route to each operator.

then we can circumvent/bypass the fixed predetermined routes..
and route every carrier signal to every operator.

that would give a beautiful chaos (feedbacks also), especially since you have other audio sources inside the system. synths (Pads/Arps) in the same pitch or drumloops

The idea in itself is not bad, the trouble is that in Reason audio and CV between devices (or even between jacks in the same device, but you route out and then back in) is monophonic. So it wouldn't work for polyphonic presets.

damn .. you caught me again!
I always forget that the control voltage is only mono..

but there is no need to route the carrier sends out.
that can fix wired inside the device.
Aux 1 goes to OP1
Aux 2 goes to OP2
Aux 3 goes to OP3

and than it is possible to route OP1 Aux 1 to OP1 .. or to OP6 or OP5,...
or OP5&6 goes to OP2.. what ever..
that should be possible in Poly, or?

and it can also be possible to make an Audio Input to one or every Operator?

so,.. and we definitly need some modulation CV outputs..
straight from the brilliant envelopes

more and more and more1!!!!

haha.. i´m happy with all, as it is..
just kidding and i let my mind flow about some freaky ideas...
