I ask why this choice of mixing in harrison rather than reason?
the tune is very nice but I wonder if you could achieve the same result in Reason.

You might be able to, but it so much easier and quicker in mix buss. I like setting up submixes for my drums, background vocals without having to create combinators. To me, it sounds more defined (and more analog sounding). The stock eq on mixbuss is much better than reasons on board eq

I believe that each artist should use the tools that they are confident with in order to do what they do. Reason is my primary source for recording and mixing, but I switch over to Pro-Tools for mastering. It's not because Reason is not capable of getting the job done but it is because there are a lot of tools in Pro-Tools that I am more confident with using for mastering. You have to be happy with the results before anyone else will be.

Also, I really like the song and you did a good job with mixing it.

Ahhh boy...

Well there are many things that stick out to me.

The vocals feel swallowed. They have no dominant presence.

The video creeps me out...

all that looking around in the dark, plus I can see your grocery list on the fridge behind you. lol jk

There are parts where the mouth movement appears WAY over exaggerated for how it's being sung.

The song itself sounds good, simple but good.

thanks for the feedback, to each their own. I'm happy with the mix (the video I did it late last night on an impulse, good enough to get something on youtube). As for the vocals, I think they are pretty forward overall (what monitors did you listen to this on?

Over 300 Views in one day - not bad. Man, I like it! Sounds like a bit of a cross between influences from The Cure and from Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics. You’ve got good effects on the chorus “.. I should have told you ..” and I like the battle of the synth leads going on in the background.

A darn good mix, no matter what you used. And you know of what you are doing, musically and technically.

Not my music at all, but the mix sound nice and crisp. The vocals do tend to fall to the background a little too much at times.

The video, i think it takes guts to expose yourself like that and sing like that in front of a camera and putting it on youtube for all to see. So kuddo's on that
