Talking Audio to MIDI in Reason 7

I sometimes find myself at work recording melodies directly into Reason, then fishing around when I get home to play what I hummed. It would be nice if I can click a button and convert that to MIDI!

In the future, this will not be enough.

People will only have to think of a tune in their head and demand that their thoughts be exported to MIDI.

I'm telling you, too dependent on technology, one day MIDI will be controlling you..

20 years of playing the guitar allows me to control midi....I can "express my self" musically, much more proficient on the guitar than on a keyboard.

Sometimes this could be useful tough! I can pick out my own melodies, but if something is more complex, I could be nice to get some help.

I'd love to see this Maybe Melodyne like pitch detection, placement & editing of audio in Reason audio tracks. Cubase has something like this now I think. Hopefully now Propellerheads are spending more time on the core program we'll be more likely to see this sort of thing added

You can achieve this with neptune.

Hum a melody into the Neptune, and make neptune send that data out as midi to a synth through CV routing and you're done

I'll try this. I might even create a patch if it works.

Peff did so when Neptune debuted: http://www.peff.com/journal/2010/08/25/neptune-audio-to-cvgate-combi/ .

It would have to be something Melodynesque. Neptune feels half assed to me, to be honest.
