The music has a definite 80's vibe to it. If that's your goal, then you've succeeded. I'd like to hear some more synths. One can never have too many...... that's the 80s mantra. Your voice has a lot of potential. Stick with it. Your voice & your musical skills will improve with time & practice. Thanks for posting.

Cheers,

J

This was actually quite nice to listen to. I don't think your vocals were that bad. You have a nice timbre to your voice, which is lucky. It is true you will need to work on singing in tune, but that might have to do with your headphone mix while recording (could you hear yourself in the recording?)

I would also suggest some more compression, but that is just a matter of taste.

The song itself was great and reminded me a lot of Cyndi Lauper's stuff.

I thought the mix was great. No problems at all. It captures the production style of the mid to late 80s quite well.

I listened to the sound cloud stream on my phone through iPod earbuds. First off, the entire track sounds well composed and professionally done to my ears. I think the sound stage is well done.

My constructive feedback...

Vocals sound a little pitchy. Can't tell if it's actually the vocals, or some other instrument making the vocals seem off.

I'd eq the bass guitar to be a few db higher in the 150-200 hz or thereabouts. I thought it was getting a little washed out by the kick.

Of course that could just be my crappy earbuds.

Thanks for some great feedback again.

And since you like the song I wanted you to know the words so here is a rough translation:

Don't sit to near
Because your nearness frightens me
I don't now much abut your nearness
But I do believe I know one thing

That if you died on a Tuesday
And our sun went down behind my back
Have you forgotten who I was one day?
Have you forgotten who I was to you?

She doesn't want to live
Pleas take me somewhere else
She wanted to show her love so she
Tied her fist and hit
And so she became the daughter
Who broke a heart
I body may recover
But I Family will never be the same

But give it this summer
And see where it takes us
On the cafe in the park
we can start something big
But don't feel to much
Because your feelings will have to stay with you
I don't know much about your love
But I believe I know one thing

That if you died on a Tuesday
And our sun went down behind my back
Have you forgotten who I was one day?
Have you forgotten who I was to you?
And when your kids are carrying your coffin
And when you see me where the land turns to ocean
Have you forgotten who I was one day?
Have you forgotten who I was to you?

I'll move from here this Autumn
You are also about to leave
If you really love her
Then you have to let her leave
And meet someone else
A famous singer
She reminded me of you
But it never became the same

I could feel your presence in the room
Will I ever see you again?
Once you met someone like you
Your obligated to go back
