Arrow I still want a ReBirth 303 with Distortion in Reason

I still want a ReBirth 303 with Distortion in Reason:

ABL2 Rack Extension is kind of there but doesn't seem to have the brightness and drive of the ReBirth 303.
The ReBirth Input Machine has always been a bit of a Cop-out and is there only Peff who has admirably made the Combinator Work-around?

It really is high time the ReBirth App made it into Reason properly and not just iOS, just for when that 303 growl is the only emulation you want.

I'm obviously just an old Acid-head Its only when you dig up your old .rbs tracks from an old HD that you remember how bloody brilliant ReBirth 338 is!

Cheers

I like the Rebirth 303, but it has a distinctly different character than ABL. I'd say it sounds thinner. More squelchy, maybe.

But for now, I'm very content with ABL. Its square wave is certainly nicer than Rebirth's imo.

If you want, you can go Thor/Subtractor/Combi programming and make your own emulation. That way you have some control over the sound you want. I made my own 303 emulation that way before ABL came along, and I had fun doing it and it sounded great. Try a Subtractor run through Thor's 18db Lowpass.

You can get rebirth 338 from here: http://www.rebirthmuseum.com/.

It's a bit of a challenge to get it running on Win7+ but it should give you the sound you want.

@props: It would be great to have the individual modules of rebirth338 as (free or cheap) RE.

Its clearly says (well actually not that clear) but Thor's 18db Filter is actually '1B' rather than 18, Graphics mistake or different filter? (You are right of course, says 18 in the Manual)

I own ReBirth, have done since 1999 apparently Got it installed on Win 7 but Reason fails to know its installed and ReBirth doesn't really feel that Installed with no file associations set for .rbs files etc.

So it would be nice to have a ReBirth 303 in the Reason Rack for real

As rebirth338 is 32bit you will have to use reason in 32bit as well to make it work.

plus one for a free Re-birth collection modules easy to use and integrated in Reason , I think it would be a cool feature and the stuff in it already is legend .

Rebirht doesnt work

Even 32 bit reason doesnt recognize the file path. I love the 303 sequencer as well. I tried to make a 303 out of thor and matrix pattern sequencer it was an epic fail. I'd love to be able to use rebirth with reason 3.5 or just the 303 as a Re. I didnt like the abl2 not enough acidy squelch for my taste.

It does, but only on the 32 Bit systems, but come on who really using 32 Bit system now? People are using 4 & more GB of Ram, so no place for the 32 Bit Systems!

So yep, ReBirth is THE useless appendix whatsoever!

And I bet PH won't do anything with it in the Reason 7, unfortunately!
