One easy way to help you keep headroom is to move your VU offset (on Reason's big meter) to a different Peak vaule. If you move the VU offset knob you will notice that the 0db on your ssl channel faders will move. Allot of Reason users are unaware of this. For the most part I leave my VU offset to 0VU = -16 Peak (which I found out is just about -14 RMS, which is what I try to shoot for on my master fader). If you find that your having a real hard time with output clipping try setting your VU offset to 0VU = -20 Peak that should help you leave headroom while mixing.
