Try using MIDIox and MIDIyoke, you can send each MIDI channel to a seperate MIDI device. Then you can lock the different MIDI devices to different instruments in the rack.

I think it would be better to just be able to set MIDI channel that the remote devices respond to, then you wouldn't need to use the Advanced MIDI Device for multi-channel MIDI inputs
