Here are a few sounds that we are talking about these days. If you can get anything like this in Reason, you will be the first.

Amplitube 3:

Guitar Rig 4:

LePou Engl:

These sounds are all guitar directly into the computer. And there are many more like this. Good luck Mr Phelps.

I'm happy for you that you found a way to make a guitar set up you like but I, as well as others, have not.

I've tried so manny ways to get something workable with the things provided in Reason, but its just not enough. I can see it working for cleans, and even crunch but anyone looking for high gain is out of luck. I think allowing the few coders out there that produce some of the free vst amps would be a great idea. IE Lepou, ignite amps, and TSE But that's just my $0.02.

Guitar RE in style von Radical Piano would be awesome! Few popular guitar modells like Stratocaster, Les Paul and Telecaster. Pretty multisampled with many controllers and articulations.

Hi.
I can not do it just by listening to those examples. I am not guitar player and do not keep any guitars or guitar equipment so I can not compare youtube to something I do not have.
But I tried some recorded shity guitar session to match to first video and dropping some quick made up set + some of my personal combinator presets. In this song just drop you guitar in to "git" track
For better results I need to have clear and amped tracks for comparing them (play and record similar to examples you giving, but with clean guitar and give it to me for processing).

Here's a piece I just did to see how far I could get inside Reason for a Fender tube amp, clean and distorted, with a Les Paul. It came out OK, but I'm still waiting for Kuassa Vermillion and Creme to come out as RE's. I used the tube overdrive in Scream, the Faturator and a Pulverizer to get the distorted lead sound, and numerous Softube Trident A-Range EQ's in series to get the clean sound (all at +3 dB at 3K and 50% saturation). No Line6 amps because that made them sound tinny, just Line6 cabinets for speaker emulation.

Interesting discussion. The demand for a good quality guitar (and specifically bass!)-related RE gets my full support.

I emailed Softube about this some time ago, hoping they might have plans to port their Amp Room products over to Reason. Very friendly and helpful people. They said that they are "aware of the demand for guitar-based Rack Extensions" but couldn't specifically state whether they are in the processing of developing one... but I hope so
