I thought about that too! But I don't think it will be possible in our lifetime. It would be incredible though. People would buy Reason for Malstrom 2.0 alone!!

its possible.

the sample start knob on the NNXT, which you can't automate sadly, can pan through a whole sample, regardless of size, by percentages, which is what the Malström does with small samples. you make that knob automatable and stick more LFO's n filters on it and you're away. you'd get a different result depending on the size of the sample but who cares. you can edit the thing.

i've been ranting about this for ages. at this point it seems that all new devices are dependent on Re format and i'm told it doesn't allow samplers yet. but hey, i'm used to waiting for this one.

The person who made Maelstrom left and formed Sonic Charge so doubtful it will happen, it might be viewed as stepping on the original creators toes a little.
