Thanks again for the help,
I'm going to explore the options you suggested and I'll let you know how I get on - I'm discovering something new every session on Reason. An upgrade to 7 this evening as well (purchased 6.5 with a free upgrade) which is kind of lost on me as I'm still establishing a workflow on this version; there will be changes to things I haven't discovered yet. Super intuitive program though and especially like the synthesis side of it. Tried recording over multiple tracks as a test earlier and it was solid as a rock in the stability department. I'm running it from a laptop which drags Cubase's heels occasionally. I think the fact that external developers are investing effort to interface their software into Reason is a good sign where it's going.
