Nah, I think it's a structural problem, not a computer power problem.

I wish it was a computer power problem.

What I don't know is your operating system. So I can't make a fair comparison with my Windows 7 system. The question I would ask is, "Do the other programs you mention load a sound as soon as it is selected?". You can observe the loading as you move down a list of files, using the down arrow (on Windows).

This feature slows the process, and I can't see why it is there. I would not call that a browser problem but I can see that it could be called a browser problem. I would like to see a check box (or modification to the auto play) so that the user can select auto loading if they wished to have it. This would be a minor change to the s/w module for sample selection and loading. Perhaps some-one from Props could comment.

All the best.

Support have already told me I will run into problems when trying to browse folders with large amount of content. So whatever you are trying to say is simply incorrect regarding the problem we are experiancing. We simply cannot do anymore than we already have.

This is a problem with reason not anyone's operating system, HD specifications, cpu, folder structure etc etc If I browse large content folders in renoise , BANG!!! open straight away with 0 lag, same with ableton.

I think they only have to change a little feature for this browser to be much faster : have it display all file names first, and only file names - then size, date and time afterwards. Right now it checks everything before displaying, that's why it takes forever to appear.

first off , respect on the op1 i have one and it is the bomb, and yes the programers need to sort it out im not sure of the specifics but somthing is wrong with reason, it cost allot more than renoise and the sample editing in reason is taxing.

i could go on lol

Same in NN19 if I want to load a WAV file.
I have directories with 1000 Kick Drums / Snaredrums / hihats and more
It takes 20 seconds and more to view the contents of these directories,
where my wavefiles are in.

Selecting the main folder (c: \ Program Files \ Propp .. \ Reason)
always takes much too long! (20 sec)

or is this normal (in Reason)?????

With Cubase and Fruityloops this goes in 250ms?!
Yes I totally agree with you, they absolutely need a new browser system..
It takes way to long to browse through all those refills while going through the search.
We should have a media window on the side with drag and drop system...
I almost left reason because I was fed up of the long ass process of looking for samples..
