For $30 more i can buy Logic Pro, the upgrade price is just far to expensive.

I too originally sided with folks who might be upset with the grace period (thinking maybe up to a month before the announcement would be a generous grace period, but certainly no later than that). And this is still without considering that Reason 7 might not be out until the end of June. I cannot agree that everyone deserves a free upgrade from 6.5.

You have take into account the time from when 6.0 was released. 6.5 was a free update. And, it was version "6.5"...Surely you must have figured it was halfway through it's lifespan already, right? The best thing to do at this point is to buy version 7 and stay on top of your upgrades. We've all been there. Some get lucky, some feel disappointed they missed the grace period. But once you are on top of the upgrade, there are no perceived losses.

I've offered this idea in other threads: I think it would be a good idea to offer as a feature suggestion a sliding scale upgrade price (in the future for Reason 8 perhaps). Like this...

First sorry for my bad english.
I cant understand, why there are so many user disappointed.
If the price for the new features are to high, dont buy them.
Maybe Reason 8 will be the better version for you. And what will happen? Propellerhead gives you the same Chance: If you own Reason 1 to 7 you can upgrade to reason 8.
Why it is so important for you, that other people get it for a lower price!? It happens once.

If i buy a new tv, it also can happen, that the price of the same device will be increased by 50% because the company maybe exists since 100 years and has a special offer. This is not unfair, this is lucky for the people buying it the right time.

I was very happy about the possibility, to change from Reason 1 to Reason 6 for a really low price.

I dont use reason as a professional. So i dont earn money with music. I am happy about the midi functions. I will buy it.

Come on, the more new user join propellerhead the longer Reason will exist.
The next version, the new user will be in the same situation, where is the problem?
If Propellerhead gives the software the first time for free, is it really a problem?

User 1 gets Reason 6 for free, but he has to pay for Reason 7.
User 2 gets Reason 7 for free, but he has to pay for Reason 8.

"Other people, other people..." Come on! You bought reason because it is pretty cool, isn´t it? So enjoy and let the other "newcomer" be happy!

If you can do in Logic what you can do in Reason then have at it! You get what you pay for. For some of us, Logic is a turd compared to Reason. If you don't use a lot of Reason exclusive features then it doesn't make sense for you to be a Reason user. Go buy a fraction of the program for a fraction of the cost.

Propellerhead does this grace period EVERY new release and EVERY new release there are a small handfull of people sore over it. If the update is so lackluster then who cares?

Ok, now having worked in Reason 7, I take it back ! Comparing you guys with Avid people, I'm sorry for that ;-)

I have to say I love the new 7, best upgrade ever thanks to the new time stretch audio tools !! What a new fresh and flexible way of working !
