Guitar DI + Mic

Hi,

A while back a saw an excellent tutorial for protools using the 'tab to transients' function to identify the lag between a guitar's DI and mic signals and adding an offset to remove any phasing.

I want to record a semi-acoustic guitar using both the pickup and a mic and in principle I can offset the former with a ddl set to a handful of milliseconds. How many is the question. AFAIK it's not possible in Reason to so closely compare to separate audio tracks, so would bouncing out and using something like audacity help?

Thanks for any suggestions.
