It really takes so long at 3000-5000 files!

Yeah, i've got a 21gb refill folder which is contained in my Samples folder of my Sample library drive, I have never experienced anything as slow as this patch browsing in Reason. It's too the point where I hardly open Reason any more, as I'd rather just work in Studio One with other vsts, it just kills being spontaneous with patches/samples as you cannot quickly select them. I just tried tonight and it took over a minute to open the Sample Folder, Open Refills Folder, Open a Refill, Select patch... ridiculous!

Angry File browser on a network

I hadn't really experienced a slow browser so far, once or twice but nothing for me to moan about..

..Until I used it on a network. I had to do some work with Reason at an office and pull audio files of their server. I want to add that the network is very fast, and no other software (Reaper, Cubase, Final Cut, After Effects) had issue.

The folder with the files I needed was about 8 levels deep (not unusual for a medium size company) Each time I clicked on a folder it took around 30-40 secs.

8 levels deep = 4 mins to get to the file I needed. My boss was very unimpressed when he came round and I had to sit waiting for these folders to open.

This kind of issue makes Reason an unviable option as a 'production ready' tool for many of my clients. With around 7,000 hits on this thread, I really hope PH listen - like they did with MIDI out - which was brilliant.

Looks familiar to me. It happens when opening a Reason file & sometimes (luckily not always) it seems that Reason forgot the correct path or something. It's annoying.
