=== Search for Official words on the 2.0.1 update ===

To: Tage, Blank, other Props

I saw numerous posts to this board about botched installs on BOTH platforms concerning the 2.0.1 "update". Since I didnt need the headache and I haven't imaged the working system yet I dont screw around with "patches" or "updates" unless I know they are working 100%.

Yeah I know... Im getting a disk imager very soon.

But in the interests of clarity please explain what all the fluff was about concerning the update and the installer and if the update is SAFE to apply yet...

thanks!

i think there were more problems in XP than any other OS. There were problems if you didn't have the default files in the default place, then the installer wouldn't work. But I never really moved anything, so it worked fine for me (OS X)...

Official word:

Yes. It's safe to install the 2.0.1 update. A small numbers of users have reported that they har problems running the update, but this have usually been easy to fix by reinstalling the original 2.0 installation.
