how to give redrum more of a snappy feel?

hi, maybe it's just me, but it seems like the MPC has more of a snappy feel with hi-hats, snares, etc.

does anyone know how to accomplish a 'snappy' feel with redrum. Would say a 1/16t or 1/32 have any affect on this?
I have tried adding a little swing to the beats, but they just give it more of a jazz swing feel instead of an r&b feel.
thanks for any help,
by the way, I know the redrum can accomplish this snappy feel, but it just seems like I luck across it instead of having a set pattern...

a snappy feel? try 1/128 resolution. Its a pain in the ass to sequence anything longer than 4 bars but gives you way more variables in timing. Also, try 2 redrums, one on shuffle and one not, or one with 128 resolution and one not.
otherwise its probably your samples, snappy seems like a sound rather than a feel to me......
but yeah i know what you mean, Redrum takes a while to understand
ess.
