Attn: PROPELLERHEADS - drastic changes to the forum, etc

OK, I just have to say this because I realize it's been past conversation and on the list of woes for many, however, after spending some time over at Syntrillium's forum for Cool Edit Pro and talking to the Adobe employee responsible for the migration of Syntrillium community members to Adobe's (Adobe bought Syntrillium), I've come to realize just how important the format of this community is.

Sure this forum has its negatives, just as any other forum does, but I truly believe that the community that exists here exists because of this forums formatting. The content of the posts and our personalities - yes of course - but change the forum format too drastically and you'll lose that sense of community.

Anyhoo, I just had to say that. I'm pumped up because Adobe appears to have no interest in adjusting a forum just for the migration of the Cool Edit Pro community. Their attitude is pretty much, "come on aboard, love it or leave it". My feelings may be misplaced but I'm in awe over the lack of concern for a community that has been the life-blood of the product they just purchased to remake as their own. Seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot.

Cheers,

EnochLight

EL I heard about that buy out. Not to sure what you are getting at sort of, but I think I might have an idea where you are going with this.

I guess my main point is that, if and when the Props do decide to enhance or change or do something to the format of this forum, do it in very small incremental steps. I thought about this because I think I read somewhere (be it a .plan file or something from a Prop's posting) that eventually there may be some changes to this forum.

The manner in which Adobe is going about the Syntrillium buy out is just plain ignorant of their customers. Seeing how it is being handled made me freak out for a moment and come running back to here - that's all. Anyway, I'm just babbling - ignore me! ;-)

Well said, 'bro

:...and got a not surprising response from Michael. I can remember at least twice "changes" have been talked about. And don't forget Tage's "as long as I live" post. ;-)

Thought Adobe would do better. Guess they didn't want to keep the old board (and whoever kept it up?) and didn't want to change the new to accomodate. They should have thought about that 'migration' more carefully. Imagine how we would feel!

Here comes the Sun, all 115 degrees F of it (46C). Gotta git!

P.S. Post-op was terrible, she's much better now.
